The Pacific Coast version of
"Luckenbach Texas"
by Ralph Couey
There's only two things in life that keep you from bein'
addled
That's a well-tuned bike and a firm Corbin saddle,
I don't need a chrome-laden too-loud bike
Got my route and you're with me tonight
Maybe it's time we got back on the highway we love.
Let's go to Luckenbach Texas, Selden and Emile and the boys,
Where all the PC lovers ride more miles than the others on their toys,
Between the thousand-mile trip songs, And "Where's my Russel Day Longs?"
And Color threads runnin' all the day,
Out in Luckenbach Texas, We'll be drinkin' chilled Chardonnay.
So baby let's hit that open road,
Pack the trunk the PC will not mind the load
Our spirits flyin' in the breeze, on a bike that's virtually trouble-free
You'll never see me lustin' over a Harley, I'm a motorcyclist not a good-time Charley,
Maybe it's time we got back on the Highway we love.
Let's go to Luckenbach Texas, Francois and Scuffy and the guys,
We'll all be out there ridin' in the snow and in the rain and clear blue skies.
Between the "Metzeler's Rule" and the "Dunlops Drool"
And the air horns blarin' in the morn,
Let's go to Luckenbach Texas, get a King Suite for 54.
Let's go to Luckenbach Texas, Betty and Annie and the girls,
This PC life we're livin, is a blast why don't you give it a whirl,
Between those "Look at my trunk" cries and "What's the correct rear tire
size,"
and Why the hell use Mobil 1?
Cause out in Luckenbach Texas, We only plan to have fun.
